In front of me stretched a bleak landscape, devoid of all life forms, unless you want to count the occasional tumbleweed. The only recognizable feature were the two tire-tracks dug deep into the dusty plain, rutted deep from years of use. I sighed agitatedly and glanced at my watch, for what seemed like the hundredth time this minute.

He was late.

'He' meaning my newest servant, Andy, was late.

I growled and drummed my fingers on the desk which I sat behind. He'd never been this late before, even during his first week here he had always been as punctual as he could. Chapter 6: I'm Lost In Empty Pillow Talk Again

It had been a week since Andy gotten his dream job. We haven't talked much about it, and he's still trying to convince me to move with him to New York, but I can't leave. He was laying on the couch in the living room watching Ultimate Spiderman and typing at his laptop. I was sitting at the dining room table, just watching him. He put his laptop away and rolled over on this stomach, stretching and letting out a loud yawn. I got up and walked over to the couch, laying on top of him.

"Merry Christmas, Ashley." The presents had been passed, the family had all left, and now it was only the two of them- and Ashley couldn't have been happier. He looped his arms around his boyfriend's neck, kissing him in response in the light of the fire and feeling Andy's lips smile against his own.

"Wait just one second." Andy's expression became slightly confused as the love of his life broke off their embrace, something he was not known to do. Ashley's hand shook as he rummaged around the pocket of his robe and pulled out a small, silver-wrapped box. Curiosity overtook Andy's features as the box was handed to him.

"There's something I forgot to give you." Andy's slender fingers peeled off the shiny paper and dropped it to the floor.

"Oh Ashley…" he gasped when he saw what was lying in the box. There, nestled among plush plum cushions, lay a thin gold ring, the words "Until the End" glistening in the slowly dying firelight. Ashley slowly slid the ring onto the other man's finger and wrapped his muscular arms around his fiancé's thin body.

"Merry Christmas, Andy."

Really cute. Short, but sweet and well done. Love the contrast of "boyfriend" at the start and "fiancé" at the end, really highlights it, especially without the whole "will you marry me" line, which would have taken away from the effect here. (Oh my god .___. English lit is taking over my life, sorry, but yes, love it :3 )
